From waves to radio - lecture as part of the General Studies

The light visible to humans is only a tiny fraction of the electromagnetic spectrum. Outside the wavelengths that humans can perceive, there are the most astonishing phenomena. The lecture introduces the sounds of the earth and the northern lights, as well as the inaudible sounds that we produce ourselves every day with our machines and mobile phones. Numerous image and sound examples take the viewer into an unknown electric world.

The live radio play follows in the footsteps of Hans Helmstroem. In 1870, the scientist tried to create a northern light himself with a huge machine.
